Ah. Never quite got that you are in hospital. I'm sure the entirety of CUK have you in their prayers, sockies as well.

I'm not sure how liver function tests coming back normal mean it's failing. Remember doctors think about covering all the bases and their arses first, then bedside manner comes second.

Try and shut it all out, get some rest and wait for them to make there minds up. With all this buzzing around in your head it must be difficult. The important thing is to stay focused, stick to the facts and not play the what if game.

You have youth on your side, and the fact that you live in modern times.

Uplifting music is good to stir the soul. Perhaps one or two others could make some recommendations. I like something stirring and classical.

Above all don't panic.

The doctors are all fairly confidence inspiring tbh, answering questions when I ask, and explaining what they are doing and why, and the nurses are a nice bunch. Food isn't brill but I've not much of an appetite anyway so I can live with that.

The liver is enlarged and fatty, and I do have a history of knocking it back, so I can see why they're keeping an eye. It could also be stressed by infection etc.

Apparent liver issues. Abdominal fluid build-up. Sounds like ascites.

Yeah that's the main symptom. Caused by liver problems in 85% of cases or there abouts. Can also be a lot of other things though.

WTG Suity - agree with everything there.
Liver Function tests are really pretty basic (I have them every month), so more in depth scans are needed when there is a problem identified.
The fact they are doing these additional scans and tests is good news, it shows they are being thorough.
Stay positive, and hope all goes as well as possible
