There's no problem with the economy per se. We've been in a bubble which has popped, and now the 'recovery' is just government stealing from the unborn in order to re-inflate that bubble as best it can in the short term - economic horizons are alot further away than political horizons.

You can't participate in a giant ponzi scheme and then seriously talk bulltulip about economics and recoveries. It's all a charade and the sooner average joe public realise that the better.

What was being sold in the giant ponzi scheme?

UK manufacturing 'strongest growth for three years'

"The PMI stood at 58.4 in November, its highest since February 2011. A reading over 50 indicates growth. October's figure was revised up to 56.5, adding to the brighter picture for the sector.

The Markit/CIPS Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) also showed employment in the sector grew. The employment sub-index for the manufacturing sector rose to 54.5 in November, up from 51.9 in October. Markit economist Rob Dobson said UK manufacturing companies were creating about 5,000 jobs a month.
        "

I'm sure my learned colleagues here will shortly explain why this is a bad thing.

I never realised that, but then I'm not average, I'm an Aygo driving maths genius.

The debt of our kids and grandkids. How nice of us - you see reports in the news of human slave labour trafficking as if it's a terrible crime, yet every time 'we' vote for more NHS spending, etc, by a government who have no intention of actually funding it with tax payer cash, we're doing the exact same thing - only in this case most of those poor suckers aren't even born yet.

                    WHS *10

Governments that continually run up debt are immoral and an affront to democracy. Just look at Greece; those people won't be running their own country for years, maybe decades.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

So your implication is that slave labour trafficking is not a terrible crime (which I would dispute but let's move on) and that we are doing exactly the same thing to future generations (which I would dispute but let's move on), so where is the problem? Apparently neither is a terrible crime.
