Do you have a link to a news article about them being part of the airport security personnel?

It's also in the paper, hidden away on P6 halfway down column 1. I would have thought they would have made more of this, but still, our Glorious Bliarness knows best.

The problem is that airport security is a low paid Mcjob that is outsourced to private companies. The same is true of most airport jobs.

Last night his sister Safeena said: “He loves fish and chips and Liverpool football club and his favourite TV programme is Only Fools and Horses. He even wanted to join the police as a forensics expert. He is a great believer in the importance of integration between our community and the Western world.”
Oh that's Ok then, for a second I thought he could be a religious fanatic sporting a comedy beard...

Yes, but the New Lie introduced licensing of ALL security personnel to combat this issue. All persons who work in security must by law hold an SIA license, which involves "rigoruous" background checks, and a big fee (that goes to the government)

Welcome to the website for the Security Industry Authority (SIA). We exist to manage the licensing of the private security industry as set out in the Private Security Industry Act 2001. We also aim to raise standards of professionalism and skills within the private security industry and to promote and spread best practise.

That's right - and they hire principally based on price, all that hard effort trying to work around security with liquids seems rather opportunistic where as long term strategy would get people into security working there for a few years before passing explosives on board.

This is not just security stuff - janitors need access to many parts of airport too as their job requires it.

Not to mention the access that baggage handlers have

Aye - I think this is the lowest paid job, though I think baggage gets scanned pretty well, it can be processed in parallel so I think era of hand luggage is about to go away for a very long time, pity as I always managed to get 10 kb over normal allowance

But, that's beats being blown in the mid air!

If airport security prevents them they will just switch to softer targets.

Trains, tube, ferries, or anywhere with large numbers of people packed closely in.
