So the reason there's (vastly) more men in top jobs is because of merit? Women simply aren't as good? You don't believe that many areas of society still do inherently value traditionally male qualities over female ones regardless of whether those attributes are helpful for the job?Originally posted by vetran View Postno they have to prove they are better than the other applicants/employees/atheletes.

no the ones in their 40's, 50's & 60's in the top jobs are there after 30 year careers. I have seen a lot more in business in the last ten years as they hit their forties.Originally posted by mudskipper View PostSo the reason there's (vastly) more men in top jobs is because of merit? Only 22% of MPs are female, and the Lib Dems are the worse party for equality.
In fact when countries like Kazakhstan, Rwanda and Argentina have more women then the UK in their equivalent lower houses in government there is clearly something wrong here."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Perhaps there would be more if they were selected on the basis of their ability not their anatomy, or do you think that wimmins only short lists promote 'equality' rather than the perception of being a shoe in ?Originally posted by SueEllen View PostIt hasn't worked in the House of Commons.
