Nasty engine. Noisy but not in a good way, unrefined and tacky.

    Why would you want one?
The 350Z has a weight distribution of (53% front, 47% rear).

I believe that is very close to balanced perfectly.

In the Porsche you will look like a well off dickhead. Blokes will hate you and women will adore you.

In the Nissan you will look like you live on a council estate and couldn't afford a Porsche. Blokes will laugh at you and women will ignore you.

In the Porsche every journey will be sublime and you'll feel like a legend.

In the Nissan every journey will make you will feel like you've been 10 rounds with Mike Tyson.

Thanks for the views so far. I have considered convertible but for some reason just don't like the look of soft top all that much (Z4) was an idea.

Will be out later to test drive some which are at local dealers and should make a choice then. There's no 07 in the area but the 06 was updated from the original, and is still on baby miles. I think am leaning towards the 350 given a) ATW's angle, they will be around for a while and the 350 is out of production b) I always used to want one but could never justify\properly afford it when a lowly grad type. Funny because the last week was all about the Porsche.

Scruff, yep the interior was something I recall not being all that great, a replacement head unit would help though. I think I have read too many scare stories about RMS failures and bore scoring which would mean I wind up paying for extended OPC warranty. Lovely though.

Why is life so hard? Will have to ask token pretty lady friend about their opinion, and probably be swayed by that.

Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

I think there was a compliment in there somewhere...

The porsche is a horrible place to sit (I had the boxster) if you're over 5ft 8 inches. Every journey will be uncomfortable. It's also really under powered and only becomes fun when you're at 80-90mph. The 350z (i test drove it when it came out) was quite good, but very chav now.

People think your rich with the Porsche, so if you like that sort of thing it will appeal to your ego.

Do yourself a favour and try the SLK 55 amg for a few pence more or maybe the old M3...much more fun cars.

M3 has terrible Chav image. May as well buy a phat Scooby or Impreza 'innit?

You must be spectacularly ugly if you need a car to make women adore you.
In my experience they adore me because I am handsome, witty and a good laugh.

Not as perfectly as an S2000.

350z has the Espace engine IIRC, and they're known for being far too heavy. I don't think anyone who's into handling would buy one. Last time I saw one at a trackday, it crashed and bounced across the road right in front of me. Which came as a shock.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.
