There was a public vote one year - Troll started the thread, based on the top ten posters (based on quantity rather than quality). Can't remember who won, but Troll didn't include himself in the list of options, even though he was in the top ten at the time. And there was no AndyW option.

I have it on good information that when the first person passes 100Million rep points Admin will be resetting points / scoring and the new top rep tag will be 'As cool as xxxxx', where xxxxx is the overall winner.
