Going a bit later in the summer (ok early autumn!!) makes it actual autumn not too long somehow. It's downhill to Christmas when we get back with Jnrs 2nd B-day at the beginning of Dec.

Enjoy it while you can. It will not be long before you are confined by school holidays. Prepare to pay through the nose and lose your sunbeds to the Germans.
