Poundland doing houses?
Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office. -

They could reconvert the area to a red light district, as they do in civilized Germany. Just ask Darmstad.<Insert idea here> will never be adopted because the politicians are in the pockets of the banks!Comment

There are some damn nice 19th century/early 20th century houses in Liverpool, unfortunately many are in in derelict neighbourhoods with lots of ASBO residents. I'd go for a completely elitist and politically incorrect plan; sell them at 1 quid a go, but require either a clean criminal record or an interesting entrepreneurial or cultural plan to buy one; the idea would be to keep decent people there and attract artists, small businesses, young academic or geeky types and people who really value houses from that era. A sort of urban regeneration but bottom up instead of top down.
Liverpool city centre has been smartened up and is a brilliant place; shame it doesn't still have ships sailing into the docks, but it's a cool place. If only the same success could be achieved in some of the neighbourhoods outside the centre. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment
