Just because you're unemployed doesn't mean you have spent the last 20 years working hard and have plenty of cash as a result.Originally posted by BoredBloke View PostBack to the story - it said he was unemployed - where did he get his cash from to pay the fine and get the car?
And yes, nothing exceptionally dangerous about driving that fast. Motorways don't tend to have blind corners; if he'd come across some slower traffic he'd have had plenty of time to react. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

Someone doing 45 mph past a school as it kicks out is far more of a risk to human life.
It gives all the lentil munchers at the BBC something to wring their hands over.
Here's an interesting stat.
No one has ever been killed on a British motorway by a car travelling at over 200mph.

He broke the law, motorways in Germany were deigned with no speed limit in mind, the U.K ones were not. All speeders should be banned for life.Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostSomeone doing 45 mph past a school as it kicks out is far more of a risk to human life.

I believe the M1 had no limit until that guy in the Cobra went up it at 160-odd.Comment

No, just banned; we'll ban granny for driving 35 in a 30 zone; we wouldn't want her Victoria sponge cake to be mangled on the way to the village fête as she takes that tricky corner next to the church hall.Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostBut not sent to concentration camps. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? So that's why the autobahn's are mostly two lane, heavily cambered and with no hard shoulders then... I always did wonder about that.Originally posted by proggy View PostHe broke the law, motorways in Germany were deigned with no speed limit in mind, the U.K ones were not.
