I simply can't imagine the carnage Anderson would have done to their batsmen, and it was a chance missed to show intent. Knock them over for 150, score 350 and knock them over again. I think we may have missed an opportunity to have created some psychological damage here.
Not cloudy any more (was first thing), bit of breeze.

TBH I don't think the weather is much of a factor looking at the clattering of wickets over the past couple of days. More like ineptitude all round. 7 down now.

You do wish England would be able to bat to gain a decent lead, but with Jimmy swinging it every which way*, even a lead of 150 seems safe.

        * i mean the ball you filthy people.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

117-9 now. Should have invited the Aussie women's team over instead. Would have made it more of a contest!!

Yet again, England's batting failures are being hidden by the quality of the bowling attack. Bell averages 21 against the Aussies now, but his individual problems have been hidden by the argument over Root / Compton.

No English batsman made a 50 yet. Not good enough to rely on Jimmy and the bowlers to save the day every day.

I've got tickets for a T20 at the end of August - women in the morning, men in the afternoon.

The difference in approachability between the women and the men is significant - you can't really see Cook standing around having a chat with the fans in the stands, or Prior being responsible for picking up the water bottles and putting them in the bin like the ladies do.

                    ffs.

Ashton Agar has just broken the record for the highest score by a No.11 on Test debut. And it's a 111-year-old record that he's broken - Warwick Armstrong had the previous highest of 45 not out, against England at the MCG in 1902.
