It's making me laugh, a lot of the criticism aimed at Gatland over the past few days. I've been waiting for the game, to see if he'd fooked up, and he's obviously made those changes on which he'd be hung or lauded. Fair play to the fella.

So when are Australia going to turn up?

Most critics, including some truly great past players, were implying the team was too biased toward power than guile, and would fall apart without BOD's captaincy. What they seemed to forget is that:

Gatland knows his squad far better than they do.

Gatland has been a very successful coach for many years so you'd think he knows what he is doing - interestingly one of the few to back his dropping of BOD was Woodward, another successful coach.

What's next for the ex-self-proclaimed greatest sporting nation on earth? Oh yeah, the Ashes starting Wednesday.

It might shock some people but I am not actually an expert on rugby so I will not be sharing my views on the lions at this time.

I actually love Australia, as has previously been noted, and hold residency. However, do I like watching them lose at sport, as they attach so much credo to it. I am nigh on 50, and have spent a vast amount of that time watching us play catch up with the aussies, and living with the taunts, however friendly, of my friends in Australia, and of crim background here in blighty. But I am slightly concerned, for they're whimpering at the moment, not even bantering. I was in Aus in the 80's, when we beat them (Broad was magnificent) in the Ashes, and they were belligerent, as they were whenever we beat them on a one off ion any sport, but at the moment, it's as if they just don't care about sport anymore.

              I'm worried.

That may well be the case, but one of the biggest sporting lessons we are learning from the Aussies is this: When a bloke's down, stick your foot on his throat.

Humble pie time Mitch! Lots of it given the size of your attack against the man.

I know, I know, but I expected Australia to be quite good.
