well looking on autotrader 10k will get you

08 plate 525d with 35k on the clock

09 plate c6 with 40k on the clock..

so not a lot between them assuming you wanna spend 10k

if you only wanna spend 5k then lower your sights a bit no point in paying 5k for an exec saloon that goes pop after 100 miles

          tom tom £150 sorteeeeed.
That does look like a nice motorway cruiser for a few years.
Might even turn out to be a good un - better bet than a BMW with > 100K IMO.

That's actually a very nice car. Good engine too.

It's your money. Not theirs. They have nothing to lose, but you are going to lose your money. So if they start squirming about BMW review, then it means they have something to hide. For a well kept car, they should not have any issues, especially if they are stressing on "full service history". Also, in case it comes up with serious faults, then hopefully the trader will fix them before selling the car to the next buyer. One can always hope

Yeah it doesn't scream chav from Swindon like a 10 year old BMW, more cool architect from Islington.

indeed and in fact when buying a car I
                  1) Set max value
                  2) Set max mileage
                  3) set max age

and see what models autotrader throws up!

often it offers choices you never thought of

Or have the sat nav on iphone with its proper GPS capabilities for £50. Throw another real time traffic add-on for £25 a year, and totally sorted.
On a side note, does Swindon really have so many businessmen driving BMW's? I must be looking the wrong place..

I ended up driving a jaguar by doing that even though I'd never considered it before.

                      Not unhappy with it yet.
