Well yes, it's a double edged sword. It can lead to peaceful dominance or warlike dominance; let's just be glad that the current German dominance is peaceful.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

I think we are far to engrossed with Germany for our own good. There is not even the remotest chance of another WW with Germany. They are a peaceful people who just want to get on.

The real threats to the balance of peace are Obama, Bliar, Bush, Clinton et al. Fooking bunch of crooks.
Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

I am agreeing with you a lot at the moment!

Germany had a lost decade sorting out the unification. But in that time it got its groundwork in place and so now it is working well. The fact that the rest of the countries around it are basket cases is not its fault. I feel sorry for the german people in some ways.

Is this why the UK are now intercepting (nearly) all their Internet traffic, to find out their secret?
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Well the Chiltern Line is run by DB, it's punctuality and customer satisfaction is pretty good.

Hmm, or pissing money down the drain on paranoid schizoid surveillance systems instead of investing in infrastructure, education and high tech manufacturing?

You so stupid you can't even tell the difference between Germany and the rest of Europe

Like that thread says, compared with South Europe, we're an economic paradise.

Oh and yes the UK's growth rate is higher than Germany's at the moment.
