Yes, but it's considerably slower - travel is paid by business, but I resent paying £158, so will hang around in London for a few hours to catch off peak train.

Drive down the M40 and park at Beaconsfield train station - the car park is very safe. Then get the train from there. Frequent and about 30 mins into zone 1 for about £11 each way. Or drive a little further in and path at West Ruislip and get the train or tube. The car aprk does not look as safe though.

Train fares are extortionate in the UK if you need to be somewhere at short notice and/or in peak hours. It's made more annoying when you see how sparcely populated 1st class is and how packed standard is. I had to travel last night because I couldn't get a cheap early morning ticket to London. 1st from Manchester was £220 for a single and standard was something like £150+
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

        I preferred version 1!

Atw drives a 15 year old pug. I'd worry about the safety of the joy riders.

Milton Keynes is a good option as well, also very close to the Motorway. The station car park is huge and from my experience of using it mid week always has spaces.

Take the car and park as MF said. Much less hassle, less time spent with the great unwashed and much cheaper.

Drive to Surbiton station, huge car park with CCTV aplenty (lots of nice cars, R8 etc. so well trusted), after 11am it's £9 for the day and just 25m into London Waterloo.

Should keep schtum really will probably be full of contractors now I've let the cat out the bag.
