I remember the good old days of this site when people used to moan about serious contractor related issues like house prices and immigration. How times have changed!? -
Mmmm, now there's a lovely sound from the carbs alone!!Originally posted by John GaltTo be honest with you if I was going for a real speed mobile I think I would look at the Aston DB9 rather than messing about with a Merc - nice cars but their little computer brains don't take a lot of abuse at the best of times! Course what you really want is the 1000bhp Bugati
Well, I'm so relieved that SCC have decided to divert £30m of council tax from propping up their final salaried pensions into repairing the roads.Originally posted by PhoenixSpecifically the roads in Leatherhead Surrey!
So far, they have just laid a bit of pikey bitumen on the roads and thrown a few stones over it.
Hardly investing, the frugal w@nkers...If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment

Ah, but I'm 32 and have hair, never a good look for a Porsche driver.Originally posted by Numptycorner50k seems alot of money for an Audi A4, you could have had a porsche 911 for not much more!Comment

I drive nothing now.
Don't even own a car now. Work from home. Good public transport.
Wife has a car. Kids have cars.
If I need a car - I'll hire one with a driver.
Totally not interested in cars, or driving.
I can have as many beers as I like now, and never have to worry.
You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

Rumour has it the TVR owners caused all the damage to the roads in the first place

Quite tempted to join the crowd and get a 5.0litre V8 4x4 to do 60mph over the humps...If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment

Not only do the carfree, or should I say the carefree, get to drink as much as they like, they avoid the endless problems of car ownership such as
Buying a Car
Selling a Car
Finding Parking Places
Paying for Parking Places
Dealing with Fellow Motorists
Fines for Speeding
Police Checks
Road Tax
Insurance
Car theft
Injuries or Death in Car accidents
Garage Bills
Car Breakdown
Car Vandalism
Increasing Fuel Costs
Road Rage
Car Clampers
etc etc etc
Not to mention the continual drain on money.
So what do car owners actualy get out of this ?Last edited by AlfredJPruffock; 20 July 2006, 16:10.Comment
