Rather than fine people, how about a small charge for using the middle lane and slightly more for using the outside lane.

E.g Charge applied if you are caught by 4 cameras in the middle lane.

People would soon keep left then as most people are too tight to even pay to use the M6 toll.

Because as lifeelvis intimates, this has nothing to do with driving standards and everything to do with revenue raising

You're not the kinda person that hoots at people pushing overstuffed shopping carts in car parks are you?

I do find it curious the reasons drivers give when they hit someone. The stupidest has to be "I thought they'd hurry up and get outta the way so I didn't have to slow down".

Overall it is ironic that once outta the car, impatient drivers then moan about other impatient drivers.

          ^^^^^^ This!!

It makes you laugh when you see these muppets making great ostentatious sweeps right and left across all 3 lanes in the misguided belief that they are somehow talented drivers.

Since when was ramping up the regularity with which you perform the riskiest maneouvre available likely to be a good thing?

Automatic fining is likely to catch far more people and raise far more money though

If I felt like running someone over I wouldn't give them a warning.

              .

London is bit different to the rest of the country in how pedestrians cross the road.

Lots of people don't drive in London so they walk straight out in front of vehicles expecting you to stop.

Since cars normally have decent brakes it isn't a problem 95% of the time. However some people particularly teenagers think it's OK to walk straight out in front of a double-decker bus with the predicted consequences.

Just let them over take you and hope they don't have an accident a mile up the motorway.

You're keeping me in suspense now..Does the teenager manage to grab on to the back and jump on?

It is no wonder PI firms are raking it in. A bit of courtesy and they'd be outta business.

                      Nah - it's bloody boring.

You are driving along on a sunny afternoon smiling about how sweet those little kids you stopped for earlier were waiting nicely at the zebra crossing, when you turn on to a piece of road. Out in front of you walks a gang of 5 youths who have clearly been watching too many Hip-Hop videos. They are 5 metres away from a Pelican crossing but obviously they can't use it.

They limp in front of you slowly trying to look as cool as possible. One of them looks scared and he limps the fastest so crosses the road quickest. However one limps the slowest he possibly can.

During this limping show you are reminded of Ali G and try not to laugh. You are also impressed by the multi-culture make up of the gang.

If you honk at him because the car behind you is changing lanes to turn left as there are now two lanes, as you are slowing down he will look at you and raise 2 fingers. His mates in front of him will then all turn around and raise a finger or two, or make the shape of a gun.

The car that has changed lanes will slam on their brakes just in time. The gang will then all stop in the road or run back into it and start swearing at you both. The fact that you honked at at slowest limper to warn him that he was going to get run over by the car changing lanes doesn't matter.

As you are in the right hand lane you can escape the limping youths by crossing over the centre and driving on. Leaving the car driver who changed lanes to suffer their fate swearing.

BTW due to the youths trying this limping act out in front of a few buses in the area and a couple of them getting killed they have stopped doing it.
