Do you think that tolerance of homosexuality leads to tolerance of incest?Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View Postwell why not? Equality and all?And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

And in 50 years time the case can be made by those who wish to and opposed by those who wish to oppose it. It won't happen because of gay marriage.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostMy point is we should not try to redefine marriage. If we make gay marriage legal then in 50 years time we will be talking about legalising incest and thereafter the marriage of mother with son.
Presumably you would like to reverse all previous redefinitions of marriage throughout the whole of history? Or are we at the point of time when we have it absolutely right but in the past they had it wrong and no changes can be made in the future?Comment

I think normalising it to the point of making marriage between 2 people of the same sex acceptable will lead to tolerance of all sorts in the future yes....Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostDo you think that tolerance of homosexuality leads to tolerance of incest?Comment

So we'll be able to marry our cats and dogs and pass some of our income on to them for tax purposes?Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostI think normalising it to the point of making marriage between 2 people of the same sex acceptable will lead to tolerance of all sorts in the future yes....And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? If both parties are consenting adults, what's wrong with incest? It's a taboo, but then so was homosexuality.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostDo you think that tolerance of homosexuality leads to tolerance of incest? Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

Why not? why should we stop at just same sex marriages?Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostSo we'll be able to marry our cats and dogs and pass some of our income on to them for tax purposes?
For those who view marriage as a holy institution it makes just as much mockery to the institution to do that as it does to allow gays to marry.Comment

I think most of us have a natural aversion to it, and there are obvious biological problems with inbreeding. However, I suspect there's a lot of it about.Originally posted by VectraMan View PostIf both parties are consenting adults, what's wrong with incest?
