    I decided to go to a casino tonight instead. In hindsight I should have seen Star Trek because the $15 cost of the ticket was considersably less than the $600 I just lost.

            No spoilers

            Saw it yesterday in 3D.

            Good points;
            Great special effects.
            Lots of SF in-jokes and references.
            I thought Kirk and McCoy were acted very true to the original.

            Bad points;
            Plot had holes big enough to drive The Enterprise through.
            Daft script.

            If you like Star Trek, you'll probably go and see it anyway. If you're a giant lizard however.....

                I liked the little in jokes, although I was thinking The Big Bang Theory parodying Star Trek than Star Trek. One things is was there anyother point to the "two Spocks" other than a glorified cameo from Nimoy?

                  Quinto was inspired casting he obviously loves being Spock and is rather believable at it.

                  Pine also looks good as tWC.

                  Gorn though defected to TBBT once you have been on Sheldon's couch there is no hope.

                    I think Urban has got McCoy down pat. Not really sure about Pegg though, hopefully he's better in this one.

                      Though I thought he did a fair job of channelling a Canadian doing a cod Scottish accent (allegedly Aberdonian).
                      What's worse is his wife is Scottish and has apparently been coaching him.
