    Re: Will not happen

Chico...the question has a Yes or No answer.

Instead of looking for ways to avoid answering the question, please answer the question Yes or No.

    Anything else is just prevarication,

    Yes or No, Chico......God's waiting......

      God's nature

God seems to have a very strange nature indeed. He seems to tolerate the maiming and killing of children in Iraq, seems to allow natural disasters to occur that kill millions in floods, earthquakes, famines, tsunamis etc. Why should these kids in Class 2b be any different?

          Re: God's nature

The real question here, is whether Chico is obedient to God's Will or not.

God asks him to do something.
The something is actually irrelvant, it could be make a cup of tea, or murder the class of 2C.

Chico cannot answer yes or no. Chico refuses to commit an answer to God.

What does this tell you about Chico ?

He's only a fair weather Christian?

He gives up when the going gets tough?

            Nobody likes him?

              Re: Will not happen

God has not given me the kids at the local school and as such will not ask me to murder them because that is against his nature. The Bible is very clear that God only acts in accordance to his nature.
Chico, you are attempting rationalise and interpret faith (and avoid the hard answers) and this is not the nature of faith. Saying that God wouldn't ask you to do it because they're not your kids is a tad presumptuous as regards God's motives and modus operandi. Suggest you reacquaint yourself with chapter 11 of the book of Hebrews, which lays it out quite clearly. No matter how irrational you, with your pitiful human understanding, may think the request to be, if God says "do", you do.

Those men of faith committed some terrible deeds, but they did it because they had faith and believed that God had a better grasp of the big picture.

Hebrews 11, 32-34: And what more shall I say? For time would fail to tell me of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets - who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, received promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, won strength out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.

Sounds to me that your faith is not strong enough to allow you to take up the sword of God.

                    Re: Will not happen

What all you muppets fail to appreciate is the role of the believer. Who interprets the will of God ? We can dismiss any ambiguity in the bible due to human reinterpretation of God's will. So what are we left with ? Well a bunch of clueless codeballs who seek to reduce the faith of a few billion people to a simple yes or no answer.

Now get back to do loops, it's banana mush for lunch.
