You're competely and utterly missing the point repeatedly made - it's the legeslation I and many other have a problem with - the dogs breakfast of a treaty that we have ratified but the US never will, that allows the US to extradite our citizens to the US without having to show Prima Facia evidence:
"In legal proceedings in court, prima facie evidence refers to the burden on the prosecution to present evidence of all facts essential to its case before a criminal case can begin. "
while we stil have to. A treaty meant to quickly extradite terrorists, now being abused to extradite any one the US fancies. The crime : wire fraud, which basiaclly covers any email routed through a US server. You say I'm a drama queen - too fecking right, as of now every citizien of the UK at a minimum who sends an email falls under US jurisdiction with this bollocks.
This is one of the rare cases where outrage is spread across the entire political spectrum of the UK. You being a Kiwi might not get how we feel about things like that, but personally I'm not too happy about it and however much you may admire the US justice system for prosectuting white collar crime, I don't have anything like as much faith in the US legal system or in the general downward direction it's heading in.
