I'd much rather have a good job than a fast but cheap one.

We won't know for a couple of weeks. The British workers are clearly smarter than the Poles - they were immediately able to size Sas up as a soft mark who would let them get away with murder. I bet he is the one making them the tea and calling it "a brew, mate?" to get in with them, while they muck about safe in the knowledge he's an effeminate ponce scared of manual labourers, unlikely to do more than utter a high pitched squeak "excuse me chaps, but I really must insist you get back to work if that's quite alright?"

I'm thinking David Mitchell in Peep Show...

Yes. It's a daily rate that works out at £120 per hour.
          Hard Brexit now!

Don't rely on us, perhaps you should consider getting a few toys to entertain yourself. Start with someone like a new car, perhaps one of those small Toyota's like an Aygo ( don't worry about the recent recalls) to run about the countryside in. Then, when you get bored of that, up the ante and get a Toyota sports car and a Hyabusa. That'll keep you entertained for hours! Use your imagination, the possibilities are endless. Let us know how you get on

It's very brave of you to make such an admission. We're here for you.

A man of your means should get something that reflects his status and gentrified country persona. So what's the next step? A caterham and a hummer?

Of course he's had his tea and fag breaks too (seems to be a chain smoker). This is from a respected local flooring firm.
Sadly my Poles don't do floors.

And that in a nutshell is what's wrong with the country.
I think it is more what's wrong with larger firms.

I had the same thing done last year, new wooden floors, and used a local English tradesman. I couldn't fault his work ethic, or his work.

I think if you work for a bigger firm, it is not your company. If your work is fast or slow, good or mediocre, and you still earn at the same rate, many just roll along and pick up their wages each month.

I've found this time and time again over the years.
