I'll wager your mere presence is insulting, hence the need to work from your eco shed

I'll be heading out for a run in the surrey countryside once this blasted rain stops HTHBIKIW.

I might knock off for lunch and maybe a nap now.
You carry on being "important" in the dead-end jobs in the offices you have to commute to every day.
Don't miss that meeting later this afternoon, y'hear. And don't forget to lick your bosses arse.
Bet you have to wear a tie too.

who says we have to commute daily? heard of webex/web conferencing etc

            Thanks...

Worst thing of all is .... I have 3 months notice, so its not like if I changed my mind and if they don't assign me to a project soon I can just go for a contract...

I was in an almost identical situation; benched at a posh consultancy; just over a week ago they fired me with 2 months salary as severance pay, next week I start a new contract. Don't jump if there's a chance of them firing you.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

Yeh, but the whole point of me joining them is to gain the experience in a new area... oh well at least am doing a lot of their online training on the area, and hopefully I can add it to my CV even if I haven't worked on it.

btw I noted most of their consultants do that, they add all sort of skills and domain knowledge on their CV even though they haven't worked in it, as soon as they completed some kind of an online training, it goes in their CV..

How do some of you people find these jobs where you get to sit on your hands. Every contract or perm job I've ever had I've been productive from day one! ???

You probably don't work in banking? All my contracts have been like a roller coaster, one week I haven't got a life working 24/7 the next just sitting there waiting for decisions / delays etc

It is always better being paid for no work then the reverse. Nevertheless, I still prefer being paid as a contractor for no work if I have a choice.
My mind has gone blank. I wonder if it was always that way.
