Don't think the Irish were keen on her (I know the IRA tried to blow her up) Christy Moore refers to her as "that ol'd whore in No 10" in one of his songs.

I am not sure an endorsement from the Irish is high on any ones list of achievements.

I wasn't even born yet when Thatcher was 'at the peak of her power', nor did I live in or have any notable connection to the UK during her reign. To only comment on things that affected me personally - well her opposition to the German reunification was pretty outrageous. (I am however utterly amused that Kohl and Merkel have somehow completely forgotten about that, judging by their official reactions to her death.)

By now relatively familiar with most of her policies, I can't say I'm a fan. I do however find people's ongoing hatred for her about as ridiculous as I find her worshippers.

If you see it as ongoing hatred for actions now well in the past, as I suppose would be reasonable if you were not around then, then you might well find it ridiculous. I can let the past go, but to me this is not the past: for me, she took my civilised country and broke it, and it is still broken.

At school. But then at least I'd been born, which is more than can be said for most of the 'protesters' I've seen on the telly since yesterday. Honestly, 20 year old students celebrating her death; crass. Just as stupid as Robert Mugabe's 18 year old 'war veterans'.

That is the thing about the Scots they have to blame everyone else for their problems, what a bunch of losers they are.

18 year old war veterans = child soldiers breaching UN guidelines.

Not in the same league by any stretch of the imagination as 20 year olds dancing because Thatcher is dead.

There was a massive thing here years ago about allowing under 18s join the army. Especially as we have refugees from places like Sierra Leone who were child soldiers and like some of the adults who seen combat aren't in a good shape.

I'm not sure when that was exactly (the peak) but I was born shortly after she became PM and was then in primary school so I only really remember how great it was when I got a child's savings account at an interest rate of 10%.

Nonsense; none of Mugabe's 'war veterans' fought in the Rhodesian war; they weren't even born then, they are simply useful idiots for a rabid socialist who enjoys stealing other people's property and handing it out to his own political supporters. The comparison is valid; people with no memory of what happened, very little historical knowledge, but who've been whipped up to hatred by politicians who want to use them.

I was referring to those properly celebrating her death and wanting to p*** on her grave, not to those still strongly dissatisfied with her actions as PM. The latter I certainly understand. The former is just pathetic.

I'm personally not saddened by her death. She was old, old people die, big deal. Celebrating anyone's death however is just messed up (I mean, it's not like her death changes anything!).
