Well, bayshickly yesh. For now anyways.

I was reading some bulltulip online last night that DPKR's satellite launch last autumn is still in orbit and may have a nuclear payload. So the tinfoil hat brigade are worried a nuclear device could be detonated over the US at altitude, creating an EMP that would knock out the entire grid.

Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

      very true

It's a wonder some of the grown ups, like his generals, don't put a bullet in his head and take over.

It's the generals who are running the country. Badly.

If that happened over Europe, I bet it would be months before the eleccy supply and the phone lines were fixed in the UK, not to mention most vehicles on the road at the time.

We'd be back in the Victorian era without the electric telegraph or enough horses to go round!

U.S. officials quietly are expressing concern that North Korea could use its “space launch vehicle” to explode a high-altitude nuclear device over the United States, creating an electromagnetic pulse that would destroy major portions of the U.S. electrical grid system as well as the nation’s critical infrastructures.
The concern is so great that U.S. officials who watch North Korea closely are continually monitoring the status of the North Korean “space launch vehicle,” whose status could suggest a pre-emptive nuclear strike against the United States.
            Feels all 1962ish to me.

*EMP proof being totally sans anything electronic at all.
I believe EMPs demagnetise things, so the starter motor wouldn't work, unless of course it had a cranking handle then you have a case. Of course the life of the journey would be short lived as the alternator wouldn't charge the battery. Then again if the tractor didn't have a battery as it has a cranking handle then you have a point.

Phew, I need a lay down.

Sounds like the plot of Revolution and/or Dark Angel. I wonder if Kim Jong Un has Sky.

If North Korea did do anything like this, it'd be curtains for them as the rest of the world would surely support "regime change". The real nightmare scenario is that the US and her allies (i.e. us) decide to act unilaterally, again, which would surely piss of the Chinese big time. Of course this time there might actually be WMDs, which would make a change.

I keep my back up hard drives in a biscuit tin inside a metal filing cabinet, I'm hoping that after the mad max years I will be able to view the holiday snaps again.

It would trigger a global recession. Oh wait .....

NK have to go down the nuclear route. They can't invade the south as they know that as soon as their troops are out of NK they will claim asylum with the first person they meet who offers them a roast dog butty
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
