I'd make a bet that no-one has ever, ever been bumped from a contract where client wants contractor, agency want it signed on the dot, but contractor says no I need to review it.....

Agency tricks maybe as some have said. And even the most disorganised client, who might be a bit miffed you can't start on monday, knows full well that they won't get anyone else by monday so will have to wait a day or two. (despite what the agent tries to tell when they say its monday or no deal).

Might be worth asking for a template contract if they have one, agency I'm going with send one out a few weeks ahead so you can get that reviewed in advance then if there are any late changes it's much quicker to review those.

Not feasible with many contracts. The agent contacted me on Tuesday and would have got me interviewed on Wednesday if he could.

But I have other interviews next week so I need the extra time. I'm not going to make it hard for myself.

Its taken them 4 weeks and 2 interviews to get this far so hopefully you are right.
