                      I can only assume that living in London for so long he never saw the things.

                      When I lived in a scenic bit of Yorkshire the previous owners had planted narcissus, crocuses and daffodils in the grass verges outside, and I continued the tradition.

                      It looked magic in the run up to Easter and a little bit beyond.
