    I've got it!
What you need is a miracle.
A little prayer and pfffft! - a well lit garage with all you need in complete defiance of the laws of the physics.
Plenty of examples of such-like in the book on which you base your life.
    Hard Brexit now!

The minimum I need is to light one smallish room (a single garage) to a similar brightness of a normal room. So probably the equivalent of an old 100W filament lamp. Even with modern lamps we're probably not getting below 20W and I assume that should dwarf the requirements for a radio/CD player.
TV was a bit of a joke, I'd just use my iPad... WiFi should reach from the house!
If it is a Tramac private road between the house and garage you can run two flat flexible copper strips on the surface to carry 12v ac or dc from a transformer in the house. Use Epoxy resin to fix it to the surface and paint it to blend in with the Tarmac.

Who'd have guessed SAs would have nothing useful to contribute but feel compelled to insult people to feel important? Oh - anyone who'd seen him post in threads about finance, economics, politics, climate, engineering, etc.

Ha, that's a very neat and original approach. Not to doubt you, but do the panel concur this would work?

Might be better off tapping into the nearest local street light
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

                Probably not when it's raining.

                Or when it isn't.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Reminds me when I was a kid. I fitted a Christmas light flasher adaptor to a streetlamp much to the puzzlement of passers by

5W LEDs are claimed to be equivalent to 55W incandescent.

Radio/CD players are among the most successful appliances to run off batteries. No worries there.

Maybe some insulation might be useful Though painting could count. I do like the idea though in theory. I'll just hook them up to the mains...
