Why didn't she just say that most crimes are committed by people of non-UK or ethnic origin but picks on one of the groups which the Mail have singled out? Maybe next she'll have a go at black people...

She's using the same tactics as right wing politicians have done over the years, play on the fears of a majority being usurped by a minority. Just see Adolf, Mussolini, et. al.

For these stats to be meaningful you'd need to know the numbers so you could calculate the rate of offence.
So we don't know if Rumanians offend 200 times more than the Greeks, it would all depend on how many there are.

Because the Romanians are due to get free movement next year.

If it were the Americans,Irish,Greeks,French or Nigerians committing 3 -5 times as many crimes as more established EU members (who have a legal right to be here) and getting free movement next year the comment would still be valid.

Combine this with the displacement many workers are feeling due to the EU inrush and its a powder keg.Remember once they are here its almost impossible to get rid of them.

These are an absolute number of offences. Most would mentally compare these offences per nationality and conclude those nationalities with an established legal right to be here have a far lower number of offences than a nationality that has a very limited right to be.

Obviously inferring anything from such vague figures is beyond your majesty but most people would consider such figures indicative or at least odd.

Considering Romania doesn't even show up in this report the fact they commit so many crimes is worrying.
