As usual Sue Ellen chimes in with an irrelevant and ambiguous remark.

I think Indian resource tends to be a mirror of their local counterparts. The individuals who have gone through the Visa process tend to be quite good.
On the other hand having dealt with Accenture both their British and Indian consultants tend to be robotic in the extreme.Comment

People like yourself who don't really understand capitalism/economics, who can see the benefits but not the hidden cost of various government programmes, get the same democratic weight as someone who does understand capitalism.
As such politics no longer becomes about enhancing human freedom and prosperity, it is about exploiting the numerous economic fallacies that the overwhelming majority of the population subscribe to.Comment

People think it's in their self-interest but it often isn't.
For example, if you are working class, you should never vote Labour. That's because Labour always leave the country in an economic shambles, and when the economy is in an shambles, the working class get screwed the hardest.Comment

You cannot talk about any subject matter in isolation.
My reference to Game Theory was due to the fact it helps explain human behaviour and while it has some uses in Computer Science it is also useful to Economists and Psychologists.

Besides which, outsourcing was happening years before the current economic downturn. Companies are only interested in this quarter's results and would be trying to reduce costs even if the economy was booming.
I suspect most contractors are more than capable of holding their own but ICTs mean we train other country's graduates and not ours. It might be an inevitable product of globalisation but it will kill IT in this country long term, IMHO.Comment

I don't anticipate sociological and psychological costs, only benefits, at least beyond the short term.Comment
