Rooney is just a pig in a semi-human body. Could you imagine him performing a role that required intelligence? Anyone can kick a ball around, but it takes somes thought on when to kick an opponents nuts in.
Far worse things have happened on the sporting field than what Rooney did. Have you ever taken a blow in the nuts? If Rooney had made any significant contact Carvalho would have gone to hospital, not jumped up once the red card was brandished. You act as if Rooney had knifed someone. Get a grip!
"Anyone can kick a ball around..."
Really? I look forward to seeing you running rings around everyone else at Euro 2008 then.
Seems that only you saw that. What were you smoking by the way?
There is no "may" about it you tunnel-visioned xenophobe!! Wake up ffs! Even Sven saw it!!
You took your time! Have you read other peoples posts, I am not the only one who saw it.
There is no doubt that Rooney stood on the blokes knackers, what I am questioning is his intent. All I saw was Rooney getting involved in a tangle and scrambling for the ball. He never once took his eyes off the ball and never once stopped trying to play it.
Are you sure it is not your well documented hatred of all things English that is colouring your vision?
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Step back, have a think and adjust my own own attitude from time to time
Nothing wrong with my vision. You might want a trip to specsavers though, if only to get your rose-tinted Ingerland contact lenses removed. I (as well as the Ref and most of the rest of the viewing public!) saw Rooney lose the plot after getting frustrated at the close marking. I also saw Ronaldo come across and remonstrate with the ref about the stamping, at which point I saw Rooney push Ronaldo. Never saw any headbutt at all, nor any replays of it. Mind you I watched the match on the traditional channels and not on John-Bull TV where you seem to have tuned into. Tell me, the others that saw this "head-butt". Do they all have their own padded cells as well?
“The period of the disintegration of the European Union has begun. And the first vessel to have departed is Britain”
It was at that start before kick off and didn't seem like anything serious to me at the time - then it gets played out of context and suddenly it looks very bad. Just team mates messing would be how I saw it.
I'm one of those rare scots who actually weanted england to win, but the whole post match thing is getting ridiculos. Ronaldo should have minded his own business but then again if he's just seen his team mate get stamped on the nuts I can't blame him too much for being pissed off (If that was one of my team mates getting done I'd struggle to hold my temper in check).
End of the day Rooney was stupid, but the backlash against Ronaldo is just as bad, nowhere near as bad as some of the press are making out. Then again the press are a complete bunch of knobs IMHO who don't have a feckin clue about football and would be quite happy to see england go out as long as they've got a juicy story to run, they keep pretending to represent the voice of the people - strange cause I consistently talk to fans who's views are very different to what the papers say ...

Now then, its too bad that England are out, but no amount of arguing or wailing is going to change matters as the poet said
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all your Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it.
And moreoever, even if you win the World Cup, that too will turn too ashes, for the poet wrote
The Worldly Hope men set their Hearts upon
Turns Ashes--or it prospers; and anon,
Like Snow upon the Desert's dusty Face,
Lighting a little hour or two--is gone.
Oh THAT? In what way was that in any way relevant to a stamping incident over an hour later though? The words "straw" and "clutch" come to mind.
Do try and keep up dear boy. Rumours and counter rumours. It doesnt matter, its over, but apparently Ronny told Rooney he was going to get him sent off. He did the head thing early on (and it wasnt much). Rooney got hacked at all game and had been kicked a number of times during the tackle in question. Just how much is he supposed to suffer before reacting and isn't the referee suposed to protect all the players from this kind of treatment.
Rooneys push on Ronaldo was no more than I would expect of two team mates. Had they not known each other it may have been different. It is not like Ronaldo complained about the "push" is it? And if that was worthy of sending off then every player in the World Cup commited the same offence at some stage.
The wink to the bench after the red card does suggest a "job done" attitude doesnt it.
And as for holding a grudge for the length of a football game: You Jocks have held on efor hundreds of years!
he's just seen his team mate get stamped on the nuts...
Stamped in the nuts? Tell me, if someone stamped on your nuts, would you be up and running about like a spring chicken one minute later? It is all play-acting, and you all get sucked in by it.
If the British played the diving-squealing game a bit better perhaps we'd have a better chance of winning these games. In fact, if I were Steve McClaren or Walter Smith, that would be the first addition to my training regime in the new season.
