So what is it the result of?
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

Indeed. Seeing ass you probably share more genes with any random African than two Africans from either end of the continent, that would be unlikely.

No, but I suspect your answer doesn't fit in with my knowledge of the history of West and Central Africa, which is a bit much to sum up in one short forum post. I can suggest some useful reading.

I've read quite a few... some about poor Asian countries that were once colonised but threw out their colonists and became beacons of prosperity within a generation through hard work and enterprise

Also read about African countries that also got rid of their colonists have had billions in aid thrown at them over 50 years but are really still stuck in a cycle of poverty and despair

Why do you think that is considering how "bloody hard people work and how enterprising many people are"

Oh, official corruption, countries that amount to no more than lines on a map, cold war regimes, lots of causes really. Why don't you tell us what YOU think causes the poverty in Africa?

Corruption, War and climate (famine) are probably some of the key drivers I would assume

Chimps and humans are 96% the same DNA, does that mean I have chimp in my lineage?

researchers compared the platypus genome with genomes of the human, mouse, dog, opossum and chicken. They found that the platypus shares 82 percent of its genes with these animals.
Just because animals on this planet share some genes does not make them the same. Are wolves the same as our dogs? What about jackals? Hyenas are they the same?
