    Good on you.

Check out parkrun UK - very friendly Saturday morning run/jog - great for beginners.

      No-good lame-assed fool reporting in...

After a couple of weeks off due to bad weather (didn't want to risk an accident in the ice/snow), I finally managed to haul my lazy punk-ass out of the house for a short run this afternoon. Nothing too strenuous, just a half-hour jogging session. No booze on Monday or Tuesday night this week, and trying not to have any tonight either. I'm still a complete w4nker, but getting slightly healthier even if only at a slow rate...
Aim for three of those runs every week, each followed by a rest day, and go for a walk too, maybe on Sundays. A good idea is to vary the runs; one longer run aimed at running a bit further each time up to an hour or so, one run with perhaps 5 minutes of warming up, then 8 to 10 intervals of 2 minutes a little faster than is comfortable and 2 mins walking, and one easy run of 30 minutes where you don't really push yourself and can walk some of the time if it's getting tough; ideally you could replace that easy run with some swimming or cycling. Add in a 1 to 2 hour walk after Sunday lunch and you'll have a very good exercise routine.
