If he is not popular he will not get votes. If he doesn't get votes, we are stuck with New Labour for another term.

Hague, Duncan-Smith and Howard tried appealing to voters as proper Tories and look what happened to them. Kinnock and Foot tried it as proper socialists, and they were buried.

Yes, as has been mentioned before - Cameron's only goal is to get elected and his way of doing that is to appeal to as many people as possible as a better way than "new" liebour, whether it be green, blue or yellow.

Once elected he can then start to reveal the hidden damage caused by this government and bring in some necessary "traditional" Tory medicine to cure the Winter of Discontent II.

Traditional hard-line Tory diatribe (a necessary salve to liebour's mismanagement of UK plc) has become so unpalatable to the electorate through constant liebour spin, that even policies that sound reasonable have quickly become repugnant once they have been identified as originating from the Tories.

that you might be physically living outside Scotland but in your head you're still there. Or at least you're in some idealised version of it, some nostalgic dream world where the Scottish education system was still the envy of Britain, where people were fiercely proud of their background however humble it was, where tolerance was common (both religious and racial) and where the generosity of spirit of (the majority of) people more than made up for the crap weather.
Mind you, you're a weedgie so perhaps you prefer piss-stained alcies..........

Well the truth is I was born about 20 miles from Glasgow and went to an RC school. I started to get an interest in footy just at the same time as Celtic set off on a huge winning spree (circa 1966), and along with about 90% of my peers, deemed it a sensible idea to pin my colours to their flag so to speak. They have remained there ever since through thick and thin. Anyway, your new thread has now appeared so onwards and upwards. What were you doing in Dundee by the way?
