Why should we think of things that only Britain has to offer? because it suits your argument? It is unlikely that trade barriers would be applied to Britain anyway and even if they were they would be very low. Britain's economy is the second largest in europe (on a par with France) and it has links to the massive markets within the commonwealth (far bigger than the EU).Originally posted by Mich the Tester View Post1; About 1/10th of Europe. Yes, a big market, but smaller than the rest of Europe. What's the threat? Block or tax EU products? The EU does that back, nobody gains but Britain loses more.
2; European countries already have that
3; France has those, and Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Turkey (which might become a member) have an agreement with the US on the use of them
4; France has that
Please, think of things that only Britain can offer.
It is also blessed with its language being the International language in the world and it has a history of self reliance and strength second to none. It also had the good sense not to part of the Euro. The UK is also rapidly increasing its trade with Asia and by leaving the EU it would be in a position to make its own decisions in its own interests.
So stick that in your pipe and smoke it

I haven't made an argument for or against Britain's EU membership; I've just asked a question.Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostWhy should we think of things that only Britain has to offer? because it suits your argument? And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Because they're employed using money that the public have contributed in tax and are public servants perhaps and should therefore cherish their situation and use their jobs to do good for the public perhaps? In Scooter we trust
