One glaring problem is his opposition to state capitalism, epitomised by China. For all the corruption, it's a system that seems to be working quite well for its people. A bloody site better than real communism anyway.
That is confusing. The term state capitalism has historically been used to describe communist states, where (it is argued) capital had not been abolished but acquired by the state for control by an élite. China is not now a state capitalist state but an authoritarian one party capitalist state. It has a certain amount in common politically with sub-fascist states like Pinochet's Chile - at least in terms of where it is now. In terms of direction of travel, that is a whole different ball game.
The material prosperity of a nation is not an abiding possession; the deeds of its people are.
