I think billing for a full day is justifiable since you we're there for a full day.
Probably comes down to the specifics of the contract. How much do you like the work, would you like repeat business, and I guess whether it has been a free ride up until that point. The one time weekend work was during a particularly menial contract which was a relatively low rate. I said I would do it if critical but would require time and a half, as i had plans for that weekend. Fortunately it wasn't required.
