              I'm not sure of the point of doing a degree unless:

              (a) you have to for your chosen profession, like medicine, or

              (b) you really want to study something through interest, regardless of whether it helps you get a job or not.

              I believe a large proportion of people are doing/have done degrees for reasons other than these in recent years.
