Ha ha - my abiding memory of hearing the first reports of Wacko's death is listening to that utter, utter, utter, utter and total tosser Richard Bacon on radio 5 who blissfully was limited to nights at the time. His guest was Quentin Wilson and it was pure comedy listening to the two of them desperately trying to fill up airtime with pointless speculation as the news hadn't even been confirmed.

Although Sir Jimmy was so evil that that Pope himself gave him a knighthood, a pattern I see is that the very many children's TV celebs are almost absent.

That of course could mean they were better at covering it up.

The police seem to be following some sort of "X was bad, so look hard at his mates..." algorithm, which implies to me the next big spurt of revelations will be around Blue Peter, but first they must crack their way in.

From the police point of view, they want candidates who lack any sort of protection from a faith or political group or who are not rich enough to put up a serious fight. Despite the almost routine nature of "priest rapes children, church covers it up", the police cannot and will not explore links between faith and rape, so Stars on Sunday, Songs of Praise and the almost unwatched Sunday morning god-slot program staff are safe.

But as the Irish experience has shown, the police cannot cover up for Christian rapes indefinitely, so I expect the next full scale scandal is where people who've been raped by celebrity Christians come forward in enough numbers that the police must at least pretend to do something about it, whilst of course covering the fact that their policy was to apply a burden of proof for faith based rape far higher than if it's just some other scumbag.

I'll put you down for a not sure on the sweepstake then.

          Exhibit A m'lud.

Roy Harper:Forbidden Fruit Lyrics - Lyric Wiki - song lyrics, music lyrics

Offences from nearly 40 years ago .... hmmmm, unlikely to be any hard evidence after all this time, his word against hers.

He's always been a flawed genius, maybe a bit more flawed than we thought. 'One of those days in England' is still a masterpiece.

Steal away from mummy, oh there's my little girl
On the pillow of my tummy give my hair a curl
Run your fingers under and over, make us a little pool
And don't forget about tomorrow in the same place after school.
Holy fook! Looks like both his and her words are probably quite similar really.

Presumably its too late to jail Nabokov for Lolita and Maurice Chavalier for Thank Heaven for Little Girls?

Harper denies all the allegations and 'looks forward to clearing his name', btw.

BBC News - Rolf Harris facing three further sexual assault charges

Not looking good for his chances of being innocent.

                  innocent.

                  Trial by media again.

                  Innocent until proven guilty. HTH.
