Good places to stay for a week in the UK over Christmas

    Hmm, some good ideas, but they might seem rather desolate and chilly places for an Indian couple. The New Forest lodge would be good if they had kids; but I don't think they do.

    I suspect they would prefer something rather more gregarious and happening. Edinburgh might be a good bet. Any recommendations there specifically?

      try Leith, a restaurant called international starters and possibly a trip to rosslyn chapel

        Self catering gets around the problem of places being either shut or fully booked and costing a fortune.
