I always liked Dad's Army, but I can understand why many would think that was fairly lame and dated now (and they did rather run out of ideas towards the end).

The best Carry On films yes, but most were and are pretty weak.

I also think the Will Hay films have stood the test of time pretty well.

Stood the test of time, or not? I'm hoping not, and in the case of MSW, wasn't good then and still isn't now!

Was joking of course. Happy Days is the biggest bag of w@nk ever written and commissioned, what a bag of w@nk.

Stood the test of time: Between the Lines, The Sweeney.

Enjoyed them then, but not so much in hindsight: X-Files, The Professionals, The Dukes of Hazzard (well, I was only six ).

Thought it was crap then, but quite enjoyed it now: The Equalizer

Which old TV shows or movies have disappointed/surprised you upon a re-viewing years later?

I've not seen it recently, but I remember watching it one day in the 90s when I was a student, and it was the American version (with canned laughter) as compared to the British edit (without laughter track). I remember thinking it worked better as a slapstick comedy rather than the po-faced comedy-drama I remembered from childhood. Still had a good theme tune either way, though.

On recent revisits, Will-o-the-Wisp was genius but The Flumps was disappointing. As was Quantum Leap.
