12 years, but apparently it's common to have to change the flywheel when you change the clutch on a lot of modern cars that have a dual mass flywheel cos the springs wear out.

Luckily I've found a local chap who'll fit a single mass flywheel conversion kit for quite a bit less.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Is this a special version or something? As a quick look on Ebay shows a lot of 2000 plate A4s for around £1000. Old cars are just not economical to fix, I aim to change every 5 years. Though admittedly my last one was 7 years.

Not especially, but it's a nice car and fairly low mileage, why pay £1000 for another car that's in worse condition when I can get this one fixed for less?

Because a £1000 car + £1000 repair still makes the car worth £1000. What will go next? Timing belt, happened to me on my Toyota. That lovely seal that keeps the oil and water apart (cant remember its name), happened on my Rover.

Yes but any of that could go on the replacement £1000 car I buy as well, at least with this one I know it's not going to need a new clutch for a while. The seal is probably the head gasket BTW.

True. And yes that was the name of it. I think Ive become a bit more blasé now a car upgrade is about a months invoicing.

Theres a few nice 2009 A4's on Ebay. Nice colour, low mileage. Come on, you're worth it
