Going to the paralympics tonight!
We don't have to save the world. The world is big enough to look after itself. What we have to be concerned about is whether or not the world we live in will be capable of sustaining us in it.

Eating is something I could do without. Running meh - although, I came out of that last IM with less injurys than I went in with - there may be something in thatOriginally posted by BrilloPad View PostYou have an iron man in 2 weeks. Shouldn't you be eating? And what about running? Or did you decide to do crochet that weekend instead?
I have nothing planned - think there is a neighbour party for child on Sunday lunch - one less meal to pay for.
Crochet is def on the cards if these IM's keep costing this much ..... slave to the contracts to pay for the races
How much have you made for the church roof?Comment

£2810 so far. Just had a donation from a housebound parishoner - I will pop round to thank her personally. We are going to collect from children's mass this Sunday - then every mass for following 2 weeks (school restarted) or until I reach £3000.Originally posted by Dallas View PostEating is something I could do without. The head of IT sponsored me and not paid yet - I must hassle him.
One issue is that I currently I have about £900 in cash. I have discuss gift aid with priest - who wants forms from everyone! I am thinking of just putting one huge donation into just giving to get the gift aid. Just giving take a tiny percentage - but more money for church overall. Maybe I should discuss it with the priest - or just do it then go to confession afterwards! I bet my penance will be a double iron man.....Comment

Off to the Olympic Park tonight, got tickets for Paralympic Athletics, but that is 10-2 and can't make it, but going for a wander around the site this evening with the wife.
Step daughter is at ours for a few days, after getting back from Hong Kong , so probably plenty of moaning about the mess she is leaving behind her at home, looks like we have been burlged again in our small lounge.
Nothing much else planned.Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.Comment

NO!Originally posted by Dallas View PostDo you get donation matching via work also?
They do alot of stuff for charity - but I was quite upset. And I had real trouble getting anyone where i work now to sponsor me. First email I got 1 response! one! I had 26 sponsors from cuk FFS - quite a few of whom had never met me (maybe I was sponsored to not meet them.).
In the end I offered cake for sponsors and got another 6 - though I did get one very very large donation.
The fund raising has taken up alot of time in itself - I underestimated just how hard it would be. But I intend to do it again next year - just undecided if it will be for the double iron man or midnightman yet.Comment
