      No-one has suggested that.

You said Labour started the big investment in sport, it's been pointed out that they didn't.

It has also been pointed out that all governments since deserve credit for keeping it going. That's the remainder of the previous Tory government, the whole Labour government, and now the Coalition.

I'm not big Labourite, but I think they did! The previous Conservative gov did nothing that I can remember, apart from a war with Argentina, which I agree was the right thing to do before u start!

I do think tho that claiming a Lottery scheme as investing in sport and not 'taking advantage of people desire to escape the Con/Lab/whoever stated it get rich quick schemes' funded from living in a council house type scenario....

In fact, you could hold the Olympics on the bloody moon for the money it cost to save the banks.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

£140 for 3 weeks of top quality entertainment both live and on TV seems like bloody good value to me. I've probably watched more TV in the last 2 weeks than I did in the 3 months beforehand.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

I came into the Olympics very cynical, but I have found myself watching and getting excited as the rest of the nation!

Whatever you might think of the lottery, one of its aims was to "start this investment in Sport", which it did, and has continued to this day. This is a fact.

I found this article quite interesting: BBC News - Olympic success: How much does a gold medal cost?
We should be overhauling any previous medal hauls with such investment

                    Overhauling a haul?

Didn't know you could do that.
