Best "Teams" is taking it a bit far. You had Notts Forest under Cloughie with a team full of Jocks and Paddies, and you had the team that Shankly bequeathed Paisley which was also full of Jocks and Paddies with a smattering of Scandinavian and Aussie. Apart from the odd other flash in the pan, there were few other teams of note really. So this "great league" had a strong Liverpool outside of 79-80. Mmmm. I see you are from Devon. You must be an Exeter fan to know so little!!!And im sure you wouldn't begrudge saying the class of the english league in the 80's was indeed a great league with the best teams in Europe actually being English!
