So here we have executive cars, which the Merc E class wins hands down
What Car? Reliability Survey 2012 - Top 10 most reliable executive cars - What Car?
Also this reliability index takes into account the cost of repairs and time off the road so smaller, cheaper cars are at an advantage compared to more expensive, complex models even they might actually be more likely to break down. You can drill down to individual models but there is no raw reliability numbers that tell you how likely you are to break down as far as I can see.
Have fun here

Get BMW X5 armoured to B6 level + some other posh car, so even if one breaks down you'll still have another to drive.
Or you can get Santa Fe - it would suit your ambitions

Choose your cars like you choose your women.
Reliable or thrilling?
Cheap or classy?
Wobbly or great ride?
I know which I prefer.
