4 pages of largely dross (interspersed with a few pearls) later....
Intellectual standards have definitely gone down, but the thread title explains that; it's not the smarter contributors being using their fingers less, it's the Dummies, who are no longer afraid of being perceived as stupid, using theirs more.
I've noticed a couple of them with avg daily post counts into double digits, going back YEARS. I see droves of such posters on other fora, usually students, unemployed or stay-home mums, rabidly posting drivel and replying frenziedly to each other with no real content, just chatter/gossip in the hope of staying popular. The only currency such people have in any abundance. It's the playground a decade or two later, and these kids never left it.
And you know what? I am an active advocate of men's rights, I despise feminism, laugh at so-called Gender "Equality" and I think most chivalry is misguided foolishness, but all of those would be redundant if women like Rachel were the rule, and not the exception. She exudes nobility and honour, and has compromised neither to fit into an arena that has little of either left. She epitomises the cool, logical Scotswoman that makes me want to head north of the border in search of one and then promptly throw my anti-marriage policy out the window.
Irony of ironies, a WOMAN is waving the flag here for a return to intellecualism. But back on topic. If any of you have not seen 'Idiocracy', watch it. If you have, let me expand the film's premise; the decline started through natural selection, but added viral infection to its arsenal, and it's evident on this very forum.
