Pensions Regulator orders companies to use spare cash to plug pension gaps - Telegraph
The pensions watchdog has triggered a furious row with business leaders after it ordered companies with gold-plated retirement plans to divert cash away from growth towards plugging scheme deficits.
But companies are not spending cash on growth - they are saving it. And if the country is going to get inflation back to 5% where it belongs we need companies to spend all they can.
Why not charge companies 1% a month on all cash deposits to get them spending again?
This economics stuff is easy - I should get a nobel prize for this.
