The hedge fund is one of the best around.
Deliberately posted in general so you can all call me permie scum etcetc. The were actually very keen on taking me on a 6 month contract then moving me to permie - I felt I had a better negotiating position now.
One word of warning, though: be very careful the buggers don't grind you into the ground. Had a guy who left the IB I worked for last year to join a hedge fund and the hours and the pressure have been insane on him. I'm a single guy, and I couldn't live like that - so someone in your position with a family to keep needs to be extra vigilant.
Not trying to be negative here, but just saying that there is more to life than hedge funds and IBs (and that's coming from someone who's worked for the buggers for 20 years...)
Still, fingers crossed it all works out fine for you. First pay packet = two new bikes!nomadd liked this postComment

My new boss has his own personal issues which always helps! Gosh that sounds mean doesn't it?
But I will keep an eye on it.Comment

This is the thing - it is hard to explain. Its sort of a support/RAD developer/developer/analyst. In all business areas. For all users front to back office. I have 25 years experience in the city and 28 years in IT - there are not many of my type around. But what really makes me good is my attitude and strong communications skills - its hard to put on paper.Comment
