MoD Abbeywood - 4 restaurants, hairdressers, shop, gym, tennis, 5 a side, surrounded by landscaped gardens and a moat.

I wonder how they find the time to procure the nations military requirements...
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Kind of explains how the muppets bought a rifle that only fires right handed (SA80) and a bunch of aircraft carriers that have no planes...

I've done that with hotels, own teabags and milk as well.

This is only my 5th gig place (after 2 permie roles) so my experience is a bit limited. But Radbroke has to be the best place I have worked at by a long way.

My best contract working environment was in a pleasant office with opening windows, lots of totty, our own proper espresso machine, decent restaurants and nearby sandwich shop, and 20-30 minutes from home. A good bunch of colleagues too. And the latest kit and software to work with.

Best permie working environment was in a converted barn in countryside, shooting and quad bike riding in abundance, plus fine restaurants and pubs nearby. Pity that the boss was such a cheapskate and turned what could have been successful projects into fights to keep substandard kit working.

Used to work next door at HP a long time ago. They were pretty good too but not quite that good.

Banks inside building, tidy restaurant. Gym, squash courts etc (£10 life membership for contractors).

Just a bit of trek to drive every day....
