Whatever one's views on Iraq and this protest, isn't it absurd that a few placards can be breaches of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act. What does it have to do with Organised crime? How is it serious?
So what's a trivial crime? Judging from recent news, rape and murder it seems.
The Flow is like a vast ocean.
Use it — it cannot be drained.
How deep it is!
It seems to be the origin of all things.
So profound — there is always more.
Its creator is a mystery.
It has existed long before the gods.

The moron and benefit bludger has been protesting there for the last 5 years!
How much is too much?
The guy is the ultimate fair weather protester...only going after the easy targets and always avoiding the tough ones.

Brian Haw has captured the moral high ground that puts him beyond challenge, he is there he claims to protest on behalf of the thousands of especially children who have died since the war started. People support him becaue they enjoy basking in the reflection of his morality. Whilst he probably does care (I am sure that if Saddam Hussein was reinstated and doubled the killings he would shut up and move on), what is clear is that his protest is more about him than it is about anything else. He is probably a disfunctional father and a benefit scrounger and he is certainly a person who cannot really be taken seriously.
Although he is a nutter he does bring the whole Iraq thing to people's attention. He also adds a certain amount of "character" to Parliament square. He should not be banned but simply made to reduce the amount of space that he occupies.

Of course it is absurd and it is the application of laws intended for serious threats but being applied to non-serious civil issues that is the worrying thing.
Brian Haw and his things shoud have been removed under other existing legislation, probably enforcable by the borough council. No need for the Police at all. Maybe it was his human rights that blocked existing civil legislation ?
They need to redo the traffic system around the square, closing it off so you can actually enjoy it without being nearly run over by speed limited busses and taxis!
